Auspicious Lion

Chinese New Year is a major event out here in SE Asia, as you can imagine. Teams of Lion Dancers are working their way through businesses and residences, to scare away evil spirits and to provide blessings of prosperity and good luck. The dancers are accompanied by musicians who, with drum, gong, and cymbal, play a loud and chaotic music to frighten the Lower Astral away from the community.

There are different colored Lions, each with different personalities. Like energy healers, each is  a little different, or represents an older or younger quality. The Yellow Lion, pictured above, has the blessings of the heavens, and control of the five elements.

May this Lunar New Year bring you, and your family, many blessings and much prosperity. And when you need to scare away evil spirits (or the Lower Astral) remember the Lion Dance. When you raise your vibrations with joyful and alert movements (Lion Dancers are, traditionally, Martial Arts students), and play or dance to loud and chaotic music (rattles and clashing cymbals work well), the Lower Astral will flee. So, dance until your spirits are high, and you feel your connection to a generous and regenerative universe. Or, rattle, or drum your way out of the dark times of great stress in your life.
