Like many professional healers I’ve studied different systems of energy healing throughout my career, with an emphasis on astral healing (clearing out non-human consciousness entities from the auric field) along with assisting clients in using insight to create a paradigm shift in their lives. My individual style is to combine astral clearing with energy-body counseling, to help a client “re-boot” their personal life situation to a whole new level.
In a previous article I wrote about some of my work with a lesser-known chakra: the Talu chakra, a small energy center located in the human brain stem. I first encountered this tiny chakra during my teaching tenure at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing (BBSH), because I was curious why my students exhibited over-charged brain stems and excessive Astral involvement during their time at the school. My assumption was that Astral flooding was part of their training program, and how better to learn about Astral healing than by immersing yourself in it? Unfortunately, many BBSH teachers at that time denigrate the astral world as being negative: something to be transcended rather than integrated. But in retrospect, the BBSH students were processing far more lower Astral energy than was healthy, or helpful. In fact, many students ended their BBSH training fearful of working with anything other than high-level spiritual guides, which severely restricted any of them progressing into shamanic healing work after learning Brennan Healing Science. Others went on with simplistic notions of how to deal with astral influences.
Once I had left BBSH in 2003 I was free to return to an objective study of the Talu chakra, unrestricted by BBSH political concerns, and other higher chakras, greatly assisted by my discovery of Shyam Sundar Goswarmi’s book, “Layayoga”. One day the insight came to me that the Talu chakra was both a receiver of astral consciousness, as well as the main conduit in our communications with Astral entities. Psychic healers have very highly charged Talu chakras compared to the general population, which makes them “food stations” for Astral people roaming at large in the material world. An over-charged Talu chakra will also affect the human nervous system in a negative way. In short, a strong psychic with poor boundaries makes a wonderful meal for Lower Astral people!
Without a good regime of regular astral hygiene, and a strong energetic container, psychics are often at the mercy of various forms of psychic invasion and energy draining. The sushumna (energetic spinal column) can become clogged with various Astral influences, dragging the healer’s vibration to a low, level, perhaps affecting their health. But by clearing out Astral debris, and by reinforcing the boundaries of the Talu chakra, the same psychic healer can learn to both tolerate – and even to thrive – in a high-Astral environment.
Here are some of the symptoms that suggest an over-charged Talu chakra:
- An increase in mental restlessness and insomnia: a churning mind, full of voices or ideas that are jumbled around, as if you are tuning into different astral frequencies at random.
- Energy drain that does not respond to the usual remedy of good diet, extra rest, or taking vacation time.
- A sudden obsession, such as food or recreational drug use, has recently taken over your life.
- Jolts or shakes randomly occur in the body, especially in the neck and head segment.
- Vivid astral dreams that leave you disturbed rather than rested.
- An increase in your personal fear levels, and difficulty in soothing yourself when anxiety sets in.
- You find yourself saying inappropriate or hostile words to others that are not your words, as though someone else is speaking through you.
I regret not being able to bring Talu chakra clearing work into The Barbara Brennan School of Healing during my tenure there, as it adds a vital piece of knowledge to any healer training program. If you are struggling with astral invasion, have difficulties during your training as a psychic healer, or exhibit some of the above symptoms, please consider a Talu chakra clearing session with either myself, or one of my Diploma Course graduates. It usually only takes a few sessions to clear and re-set the energetic brain stem. This can often make a tremendous difference to the functioning of your overall energy system. You deserve to have good boundaries with the astral, and to have your life force flow in a healthy direction… and not unknowingly into the Lower Astral world.

wow… it sounds a bit scary… but good to know about this “talu” thing…
i might have a issue in this chakra. i have at least 5 of those symptoms out of 7 you wrote.
is it almost same as “obsessed” by a “ghost”? or like Eckhart Tolle says “ego talking”?
anyhow… i want to have a clearing session with you very soon. : )
My partner and I have been sruggling wih some of these symptoms and there have been times that mostly my partner has fought with all 7 of them. Recenly, it’s been the jolts or shakes we’ve both been contending with even after being cleaned of attachments and our apartmen cleared, we still can’t seem to get rid of this “entity” or “enities” that are bent on making our lives miserable. Up until this past December, we didn’t have a clue that we’ve been under attack and never thought the spirit realm could have such an influence on our lives. Mental illness is often misdiagnosised and the person just gets drugged up then even becomes more weaker and an even better food source.
We’re actually in the process of moving from our residence because we can’t take much more of it, we’re also afraid of eventually becoming injured or an accident occurring. The last few months we’ve been pushed into windows, had things knocked out of our hands, tripped and even thrown down so we would hit our heads into the wall. These physical things usually only happen when it catches us tired and weakened because otherwise, we’re too strong for it.
This past December, my partner had several attachments removed because they were influencing his thoughts, behaviors and trying to convince him in believing in these horrible thoughts and would plant thoughts of horrible things. It tried to get him to do things he’d normally never would do or even think about. I believe it all began with someone sending us bad thoughts, wished the worst for us and these thoughts were energized from his compulisive thinking and then became strong thought-forms, which then attracted even more negative energy. I had the attachment cords to this person removed after I realized what was happening. I had all this verified by 2 independent energy healers, both confirmed he was the one sending the bad energy to us and the main cause for the entities.
I am a therapist, and I confirm, all what you say in your wonderful article.
For some reasons, Talu chakra is called “occult chakra”.
I call this chakra the “vampire chakra”.
If your using this chakra in this way, no wonder…
this is a sacred center, meant for condensing energy and the understanding of / creation of nectar; it reguires a strong definition in your sublte body, inlcuding a root. To use it for common astral travel (where you think you are going somewhere), and healing is a mistake; there are other places better suited for that. Its full , profound, and vital development is something a practictioner does, after they understand the mind, emotions, etc, are are able to effortlessly contain the form of their mind (thinking, no thinking, solidity of mind, etc).
I thank you for your comments, Virochana, and I certainly agree with you in regard to the sacred functioning of the chakra. My point is that it is tremendously helpful to both clear and insulate this chakra if you are engaged in psychic healing work with others. I am sure there are many esoteric uses for this chakra of which I am not aware (as there are for every chakra), but one use will not discount other uses. Also, feel free to enlighten me as to other uses of Talu chakra, and I’d be happy to post your knowledge on my site, for the education of all. I’m always happy to learn. Thanks again for posting.
Very interesting read. Different systems emphasize different minor energy centers (besides the best known major seven chakras), but I have never considered the Talu chakra so far. Is it connected to the Bindu chakra in any way?

Although Bindu chakra is traditionally associated with Vishuddha chakra it makes sense to me that there would be a connection with Talu chakra, as both provide access to the spirit worlds: Talu to the lower and middle Astral, and Bindu (“point”) chakra access to the higher Astral (ie, advanced spirit guides or teachers) to anyone ready for such contact.

The book “Safe Practices for Energy Healers and Their Clients” sounds like a worthy project. And fills an important gap in the energy healing literature. In some literature I have read Talu chakra named Bindu. I also read that for animals on four legs that chakra is their “top” chakra, and that their guidance comes through that chakra. I also wonder what is going on with that chakra after 12/12. Many people having “that bug” have reported pressure in that area. And is it possible that other stuff can enter our realm through that chakra? A frequency that we, because of our ignorance, call “fluelike symptoms” or “the flue”, that makes our lungs dry and makes us cough?….? There is a sudden outbreak here, too fast to blame it on virus transmission………………..
